Larry Dyer Photography

San Francisco Bay Area Photographer, Larry DyerLarry hitchhiked from his hometown of Washington D.C. to San Francisco to study filmmaking and photography at the San Francisco Art Institute. He began his career in Hollywood first as a motor home driver to the stars and then as a focus-puller and camera operator.

Larry was privileged to work with such directors as Robert Altman and John Schlesinger and such cinematographers as Alan Daviau and Philippe Rousselot. He’s worked on projects as diverse as The Falcon and the SnowmanUnsolved Mysteries and Friday the 13th VI. Larry clapped slates in the faces of Muhammad Ali, Sean Penn and the Incredible Hulk.

Larry returned to the Bay Area to open a San Francisco studio. He’s produced award winning corporate, commercial and institutional photography and video. His lifestyle photography and portraits have been commissioned by authors, musicians and CEOs, and by companies like Wired Magazine, Bank of America, Intuit, Motorola and many more.

Whether he’s using still images or moving pictures, Larry loves his work as a storyteller.

“My favorite projects involve creatively collaborating with my clients to first explore and define and then capture and present their unique story. I use still photographs, video interviews, or a combination of the two to create the visual narrative for their business, art form, institution or project. As a seasoned photographer, I have lots of ideas on how to visually tell my clients’ authentic stories.” - Larry Dyer
